Zazzle Announces Inaugural 2012 E-Commerce Presidential Election Poll to Track Real-Time Voter Sentiment and Engagement
20 Million Monthly E-Commerce Consumers to Predict Presidential Outcome Through Purchasing and Design Behavior
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jan. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Zazzle today announced the 2012 E-Commerce Presidential Election Poll. The poll will provide predictive analysis based on the design and purchasing behavior of Zazzle's e-commerce community (aka 20 million quasi-political pundits). The poll commences today and will close on March 5, 2012 – prior to "Super Tuesday" – and is designed to measure voter and constituent engagement and sentiment via the world's largest online customization community.
To date, more than 2.5 million custom political designs and 1 million political clothing items have been developed and sold on Zazzle's customization platform.
"Whereas Twitter and Facebook reflect consumer opinions through text, sites like Zazzle are where the physical manifestation of ideas and opinions take place. This has been an accurate form of pre-determining political stories since the 2008 election," said Josh Neuman, Zazzle's head of political merchandising and analyses.
Zazzle's Presidential Poll is designed to reflect real-time online user and voter sentiment about the presidential candidates, including Barack Obama, during the upcoming primary, debates and other campaign events.
"The online customization industry has become a real-time platform for consumer to express their opinions through product design. This poll will accurately reflect constituent sentiment as thousands of consumers visit Zazzle to develop designs within minutes of the world's most newsworthy events – this trend is consistent and prevalent within the political arena," said Neuman.
