XanEdu Announces a National Partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education to Provide Curriculum, Technology, & Custom Publishing Solutions
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Aug. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- XanEdu, Inc. of Michigan is announcing a partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education to offer alternatives to traditional textbooks by creating high-quality, relevant, and cost-effective unit readers. XanEdu has unique expertise centered on publishing and technology solutions that enables XanEdu to provide a scalable customization and distribution model for all schools nationwide.
The focus of partnership is on the creation of unit readers, which accompany the freely available English Language Arts Guidebooks 2.0, a curriculum made by teachers for teachers. Prior to this partnership, teachers and schools had to spend extra time seeking copyright permissions to legally reproduce the texts needed to implement the curriculum. The unit readers produced by XanEdu include the needed book excerpts and online content in customized booklets that teachers and schools can purchase, thus reducing excess costs and removing the time teachers and schools need to spend gathering texts. According to Rebecca Kockler, Assistant Superintendent of Academic Content at the Louisiana Department of Education, "The Louisiana Department of Education designed these guidebooks to be practical and teacher-friendly. Our partnership with XanEdu allows us to make good on that commitment."
Beyond providing customization solutions, XanEdu's technology is playing a central role in this partnership. XanEdu has co-branded part of its software platform for faculty, administrators, and advisors to review content and implement their ideal course materials at any grade level.
"We are very excited to provide our customization and technology solutions to the State of Louisiana. XanEdu focuses on opportunities to improve the efficiency of course development on the administrative side of education and access to course materials on the student side. This partnership was a perfect mix of both and delivers exceptional course materials to school districts and teachers across the country," said Brett Costello, Chief Operating Officer at XanEdu, Inc.
