WORX Joins the National #GivingTuesday Movement to Encourage Spending With A Purpose
5% of all sales from Worx.com on Tuesday, December 2nd will be donated to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- WORX, the company that offers innovative outdoor tools and equipment to make yard work easier, has joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.
Taking place on December 2nd, #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national moment around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.
WORX Tools joined #GivingTuesday to showcase its commitment to giving back and helping those in need. The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program is dedicated to bringing joy to children around the country during the holiday season. In order to help them with this noble cause, WORX will donate 5% of all sales from Worx.com on Tuesday, December 2nd to the organization.
"We are very excited about this year's #GivingTuesday partnership with Toys for Tots," says CEO Tom Duncan. "#GivingTuesday is a great event to raise awareness for worthy causes and we are proud to donate 5% of our sales on Worx.com to the organization."
"Customers not only have the opportunity to shop an extended sale, but can do so for the benefit of children throughout the United States," added Duncan.
Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world.
