Working Mother Ranks Deloitte a Top 10 Employer for Working Mothers for Third Consecutive Year and Among the Leading 100 for the 18th Year in a Row
Deloitte recognized for unwavering support for working mothers
NEW YORK, Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte announced today it has garnered its third consecutive top 10 ranking on Working Mother magazine's survey of "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers," reflecting its focus on such areas as women's advancement, flextime hours, paid maternity leave and telecommuting. This marks the 18th successive year Deloitte's been honored to be on the list.
In addition to praising Deloitte's investments in bold career-life initiatives such as Mass Career Customization and voluntary sabbatical programs, Working Mother highlighted the organization's commitment to education and training. This commitment is embodied by Deloitte University, a 107-acre landmark campus and a catalyst by which Deloitte is transforming its talent development programs to nurture future leaders and enrich careers. Deloitte University will enable professionals to enhance the complex technical, industry, professional and leadership skills required to successfully serve clients. Among the programs offered is WINning new business, a curriculum that provides high-potential senior manager women with the tools to build strong client relationships, powerful negotiation skills, and solid personal brands.
"As an organization where leaders thrive, Deloitte recognizes the critical importance of providing an environment where all of our people, women and men, can fit work and life together," said Barbara Adachi, national managing principal for Deloitte's Initiative for the Retention and Advancement of Women. "Reducing career-life conflict enhances morale, productivity and retention — and by extension helps us build and sustain a talent pipeline of future leaders."
Earlier this year, Working Mother also named Deloitte one of the nation's Best Companies for Women's Advancement, recognizing its commitment to helping high-potential women secure the mentoring, networking and professional development required to progress to senior management.
The Working Mother 100 Best Companies are selected based on responses to 650 questions that address such issues as the access and usage of flexible work arrangements, parental leave, childcare, health and wellness support and the advancement of women to all levels of management.
"With more than 169,000 women hired last year, this year's 100 Best Companies make up an impressive group of winners who offer family-driven programs and benefits that far outpace their competitors," said Carol Evans, president, Working Mother Media.
