Wooster Opportunity Loan Fund Announces New Application Round
Information Session Set For Interested Wayne County Tech Entrepreneurs
WOOSTER, Ohio, Sept. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wooster Opportunity Loan Fund (WOLF) (www.jumpstartnetwork.org), a hyper-local source of funding that supports young technology companies located in or willing to move to Wayne County, is now accepting applications for its next funding round. Interested entrepreneurs can apply for loans of up to $35,000 by November 1.
"The WOLF allows our community to provide an attractive source of capital to early stage technology companies who need resources in order to grow here," says Rod Crider, President, Wayne Economic Development Council (www.waynecountyedc.com). "Over the long term, we believe the county benefits from the new jobs that are created, the additional capital that's attracted and the revenue that's generated by these companies."
Interested applicants can attend an information session at 5:30pm on October 10. The event takes place in the lobby area of the Freedlander Theater, which is located on the corner of University Street and Bever Street on the campus of The College of Wooster (www.wooster.edu). At this session, representatives from the City of Wooster, the Wayne Economic Development Corporation, the College of Wooster, The Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce, JumpStart, students, entrepreneurs, professionals and interested community members can get an overview of WOLF and its eligibility requirements, as well as the information about the resources and assistance available to Northeast Ohio entrepreneurs. Register for this event by contacting Jonathan Millea ([email protected]; 330.263.5250).
The WOLF was launched in late 2010 by the City of Wooster and the Wooster Growth Corporation in collaboration with JumpStart and with support from the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce, Wooster Community Hospital, the Wayne Economic Development Council and Cascade Capital. The fund has awarded capital to a diverse array of promising young companies since launching.
"These investments reflect our commitment to supporting future entrepreneurial successes and encouraging innovation across Wayne County," Crider says.
