Windmill International, Inc. Announces Appointment of Harry A. Pape as Chief Executive Officer
NASHUA, N.H., Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Windmill International, Inc. announced that Harry A. Pape has been appointed Windmill's CEO. Mr. Pape takes over the reins from Edwin K. Smith who resigned to pursue other interests.
Windmill's new CEO has been with Windmill for almost 15 years in various capacities; most recently supporting the Air Force in its quest to fully exploit the growing capability of information technology. As Windmill's Director of Information Services, he has expanded support to several domains within the Air Force; leading the evolution of information management practices that build on a better understanding of Community of Interest semantics. Harry joined Windmill in 1996 to apply his NATO AWACS experience to a notional NATO Joint STARS program. He went on to co-lead the Air Force Integrated Digital Environment project with Dr. Ken Megill while developing and applying IDE principles in the Global Air Traffic Management Office at Hanscom AFB.
Prior activities include co-founding TESco Associates Inc., a specialty injection molder now focusing on bio-absorbable polymeric implants. Harry served on active duty with the Air Force from 1973-1980 and completed his 30-year career in the Air Force Reserve ending in 2002 as senior staff for the AF Chief Information Officer. Active in his community, he has served as the elected Town Moderator in Princeton, MA for over 20 years.
"It has been my honor and privilege to continue service to our nation as a member of the Windmill team," said Mr. Pape. "Having served in the military, started businesses and worked for a defense contractor, I can say without reservation that working with defense professionals provides the best quality of work life. The work we support is righteous in so many ways; at the end of each work day, we can take satisfaction in knowing we've helped make the world a better place."
