WASHINGTON, Nov. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This weekend (Nov. 15-16) leaders from the world's 20 largest advanced and emerging economies will meet in Antalya, Turkey to discuss policy and economic issues of vital importance. One issue that has gained traction in recent days is how G20 nations can respond more effectively to the crisis in Syria and resulting refugees seeking safety. This follows the announcement that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry would travel on Thursday to Vienna for more talks on the crisis in Syria.
InterAction, the largest U.S. alliance of international NGOs, has released a number of online resources for policymakers, members of the press and civil society advocates related to the ongoing crisis in Syria and key policy issues facing G20 leaders in advance of this weekend's summit in Antalya.

- Telebriefing: Will G20 Leaders Act Decisively On Syrian Crisis?-- On Nov. 10, InterAction hosted a special press telebriefing featuring experts from several leading NGOs on what steps G20 leaders should take to address this historic crisis. The speakers discussed the need for a political solution to the conflict in Syria, explored the current state of refugee relief efforts, and shared key insights gained by the NGO community from on-the-ground efforts to aid Syrian refugees in Europe, Turkey and the Middle East.
Featured speakers included: Catholic Relief Services Chief Operating Officer Sean L. Callahan, InterAction Vice President for Humanitarian Policy and Practice Joel Charny, Save the Children Vice President of Policy and Humanitarian Response Michael Klosson, and International Rescue Committee Director of UN Humanitarian Affairs Kristele Younes. - Interactive Syrian Refugee Aid Map -- The ongoing conflict in Syria – now in its fifth year – has forced more than half of all Syrians to flee their homes. InterAction has created an interactive map providing a partial snapshot of InterAction members' response to the Syrian refugee crisis. The map is updated automatically with data provided by InterAction members to NGO Aid Map, a voluntary InterAction initiative. Interactive map available at: http://bit.ly/Syria-Refugee-Map
- G20 Online Policy Recommendations -- When the G20 leaders meet in November to discuss pressing global issues, it is imperative that they take action to address the needs of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people. To help focus discussion on key development issues at this year's G20, InterAction's G7/G20 Advocacy Alliance—a group of over 40 non-governmental organizations and labor groups—has released an online policy brief.
