WiKID Systems Now Easily Integrated for Strong Two-Factor Soft-Token Authentication Through Gluu's Cloud Identity Platform
The Gluu cloud identity platform now supports WiKID Systems for affordable and secure soft token two-factor authentication to cloud, mobile, and network applications.
ATLANTA, Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WiKID Systems, Inc. is proud to announce that Gluu, an Austin-based cloud identity company, now offers easy integration of WiKID Systems for strong, two factor soft-token authentication. With support for WiKID Systems, the Gluu Cloud Identity platform now offers easy integration for secure mobile, hard token, and soft token two-factor authentication solutions for cloud, mobile, and network applications.
Gluu enables organizations to use strong authentication logic for SaaS apps that use SAML, mobile apps or websites that support OpenIDConnect, and network access via Wifi or VPN. WiKID can be used as either a one step, two factor authentication, where the WiKID One Time Passcode ("OTP") is used as the password. Another option is to use the WiKID OTP in a two-step authentication, where the first step is a username and password verification against Active Directory, and the second step is the OTP.
"While securing corporate VPN access continues to be the main driver for two-factor authentication, we are seeing substantial growth in the need to secure cloud-based offerings, which really require SSO," said WiKID Systems CEO, Nick Owen. "Many smart IT people combine their two-factor roll-out with single sign-on to add security while increasing ease of use. For this reason and others, we see our partnership with Gluu as mutually beneficial."
The WiKID Strong Authentication System, used with Gluu's on-demand cloud identity platform is a fully customizable standards-based authorization and authentication solution that is designed to run "out-of-the-box" on your existing hardware or a dedicated cloud server provided by Gluu. Free trials of the complete, integrated solution are available through Gluu and are typically completed in one to three weeks.
WiKID is unique in that it uses asymmetric keys that are generated on the PC or smartphone rather than shared secrets which can increase security risks. Using public/private encryption allows WiKID to communicate directly with the server over http, so there are no telecom charge-backs or overages. WiKID's easy-to-use API and Gluu's extensibility made integration fast and simple.
