COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- White Castle, America's first fast-food hamburger chain, is partnering with Tastemade, a video network that brings people together with shared passions for great food and travel, and FOODBEAST, a leading source for food news, information and entertainment, on a new video series tilted, "For the Love of the Slider." The mini series will showcase renowned chefs from New York, Chicago, Louisville and Columbus, Ohio, who will create their own unique recipes featuring White Castle Sliders.
"We have a unique opportunity to tell chefs' stories while also showcasing the iconic Slider in a way that hasn't been done before," said Geoff Kutnick of FOODBEAST and "For the Love of the Slider" host. "The range of chefs for the series has to be one of our favorite elements. From heavily-acclaimed Edward Lee and James Beard nominated-Tanya Baker, to New Yorker and Filipino Taqueria phenomenon Jordan Andino, and finally, the self-taught culinary guru Marcus Meacham from Columbus, Ohio. The food and cast is one of the most diverse we've had the opportunity to work with."
The special kick-off episode, starring Chef Linh Nguyen of Santa Ana, Calif., premiered October 18 exclusively on the FOODBEAST YouTube channel. Nguyen's recipe features White Castle's retail products, available in grocery stores nationwide. New episodes in the chef-inspired series will premiere November 1, November 15, November 29 and December 13. Each episode will be accessible on WhiteCastle.com.
Lee, Baker, Andino and Meacham are passionate about quality and taste, and each chef is a self-proclaimed White Castle Craver, too. Through the videos produced by FOODBEAST, viewers will learn how the chefs' surroundings and culture inspire their food recipes every day, and how small, local ingredients can give the White Castle Slider a unique regional flair.
"We're thrilled to be partnering with Tastemade and FOODBEAST on this fun project, and we hope it will encourage Cravers all over the U.S. to channel their creativity and make their own recipes inspired by White Castle's Original Slider," said Jamie Richardson, vice president of White Castle. "Whether purchasing Sliders at a nearby Castle or grocery store, these chefs prove that Sliders are the perfect ingredient for Crave-worthy creations."
