NEW YORK, Oct. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Whistle Sports, a global sports media company, today announces "Next Trickshot Superstar," the first show it's creating exclusively for Facebook's new Watch platform. The series will feature 10 episodes, which are scheduled to debut early next year and will star former pro football player Chad Johnson as the host.
Produced in partnership with Mix Tape Media, a Magilla Entertainment company, "Next Trickshot Superstar" will feature trickshot hopefuls to get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to not only battle for trickshot supremacy, but for credibility as athletic marvels. To determine the Next Trickshot Superstar, Whistle Sports will search far and wide for the 18 most worthy competitors to compete in the 10-episode series. The field will be whittled down through a series of epic challenges until only one champion is left standing.
"Y'all know I was born to host Next Trickshot Superstar and can't wait to see some of the amazing contestants and who takes home the $250K prize," said Johnson. "My money is on myself even though I'm the host! I know what it takes to perform at a high level. During my playing days I even pulled off some epic trickshot catches of my own. To become the Next Trickshot Superstar, competitors will need an incredibly diverse skillset equipped with accuracy, distance, creativity, consistency, coordination, ingenuity and perhaps most importantly, determination. The cast of new age athletes will battle in crazy challenges such as Human Skeeball, High-Rise Corn Hole and Zipline Spot Kicks.
The first six episodes will each feature a different cast of competitors. The winner of each episode will qualify for the championship battle spanning episodes seven through 10. The grand prize winner will take home $250,000.
