Westinghouse Appoints George Hobbs as Vice President, Manufacturing Processes
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Westinghouse Electric Company today announced the appointment of George Hobbs to the position of vice president, Manufacturing Processes.
In his new position, Mr. Hobbs will be responsible for integrating and sustaining throughout the company the Westinghouse Manufacturing System -- a business practice model that joins best practices from the nuclear and manufacturing industries in an integrated system.
He will also lead the development of the manufacturing competency as dean of the Manufacturing College of the Westinghouse University, the company's strategic learning architecture.
Mr. Hobbs comes to this role from his most recent assignment as plant manager of the Westinghouse Nuclear Component Manufacturing facility and director of Korean Projects. He joined Westinghouse in 2005 as the Nuclear Component Manufacturing manager after holding several positions of increasing responsibility with Pratt and Whitney.
Mr. Hobbs will be located at the Westinghouse Newington, New Hampshire, USA facility and will report directly to Dan Lipman, senior vice president of Operations Support.
