Wellness Natural Pet Food Reveals Boston's Favorite Pet Names as Prelude to "Rescue the Runway: Featuring Boston's Finest" Pet Charity Event
BOSTON, Aug. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- When thinking about the city of Boston, what comes to mind for many are the three Bs: baseball, Bruins, and Brady. It should come as no surprise then that all three of these made the list of Boston's Finest Pet Names released by Massachusetts-based natural pet food brand Wellness®. Wellness is unveiling the list as part of its involvement with Rescue the Runway: Featuring Boston's Finest, a pet rescue charity event. The event is being hosted by Audrey's Rescue Angels and Durty Harry's at the historic Colonnade Hotel on Sunday, August 17th.
Walking the runway at the event alongside rescue pets available for adoption will be another type of Boston's Finest—notable Bostonians, including heroic members of the Boston Police Department, news anchors Susan Wornick and Janet Wu, Celtics sideline reporter Abby Chin, radio personality Ramiro Torres from JAM'N 94.5, New England Revolution soccer player Kelyn Rowe, and Boston Red Sox's own Mike Napoli.
"One of the best perks of being an athlete in Boston is we get to help out so many cool charities," says Mike Napoli, first baseman for the Boston Red Sox. "I'm excited to be involved and get the chance to help out animals, especially rescue dogs. It's definitely going to be a really fun event."
"As the only city in the country with its own dog breed—the Boston Terrier—it's obvious that this is a town that is passionate about pets," says Chanda Leary-Coutu, Senior Manager of Marketing Communications for Wellness Natural Pet Food. "At Wellness, we've made it our mission to provide unconditional love and uncompromising nutrition to pets nationwide and in our own community, and we're thrilled to be sponsoring the Rescue the Runway Event which will benefit so many wonderful organizations in the Boston area."
