James Carder brings more than 17 years of experience working in corporate IT security and consulting for the Fortune 500 and U.S. Government. At LogRhythm, he develops and maintains the company's security governance model and risk strategies, and oversees threat and vulnerability management and the Security Operations Center. He also directs the mission and strategic vision for the LogRhythm Labs machine data intelligence, threat and compliance research teams. Prior to joining LogRhythm, Carder was the director of security informatics at Mayo Clinic and ran Mandiant's Northeast field practice. He holds a BS degree in Computer Information Systems from Walden University and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP.)
Ryan Sommers manages a team of subject matter experts in incident response, forensics, malware analysis and threat intelligence. Prior to joining LogRhythm, Sommers spent almost 11 years in incident response services for companies such as CrowdStrike, Stroz Friedberg and the Mayo Clinic. His positions at these companies included forensic examiner, malware analyst, incident response consultant and assistant director. Throughout his career, Sommers has worked incident response investigations for some of the world's largest defense contractors, credit card processors, media companies and Internet services providers. He has worked many incidents involving the advanced persistent threat as well as financially motivated cybercriminal gangs. He has served as an expert witness related to computer forensic matters and has provided database forensics for cases involving both the FTC and the SEC. Sommers has a BS degree from the University of Minnesota and maintains many industry certifications.
