WayUp & Red Bull Celebrate America's Best Interns with the First-Ever WayUp Intern 100 List
Winners will be Eligible for National Recognition, Bragging Rights and Amazing Red Bull Prizes
NEW YORK, July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- WayUp, the leading platform for millions of early-career professionals to explore job and internship opportunities, receive advice, and get discovered by employers has partnered with Red Bull to launch the first annual WayUp Intern 100 List. This coveted list of the country's top interns will be developed in conjunction with National Intern Day, a day that recognizes and honors hard-working interns across the United States, on July 26th.
College students who are currently interns are invited to nominate themselves for inclusion, and all nominees are encouraged to invite colleagues and peers to vote for them. Nominations will be evaluated based on the following mix of criteria:
- Quality of overall performance/work-ethic: Intern was reliable, punctual, met or exceeded deadlines and produced quality work with attention to detail
- Projects: how he/she contributed to projects, either alone and/or in a team-oriented setting
- Learning: intern identified a new skill, abilities and understandings were attained
- Reflection, personal growth & future plans: the intern is likely to apply how the internship impacted him/her once back on campus and in the future
In addition to national recognition and personal bragging rights, each Intern 100 List member will win a one year supply of Red Bull Energy Drink. The Top 10 Interns will also receive some special Red Bull swag and the Intern of the Year will ultimately receive a VIP Festival Experience at Austin City Limits with a friend.
The nomination and voting period will be open until July 30th and winners will be announced on August 6th. Nominated interns must be enrolled in a four-year or five-year undergraduate degree program and be a current intern or have completed an internship in 2018. The selection process is based on a 30% public vote and 70% judging panel.
"These types of lists are what young professionals strive for and see as career benchmarks. I'm thrilled to be creating an accolade for college interns - some of the hardest working and most underappreciated members of the American workforce - to help them stand out to employers and give them confidence early-on in their career," said Liz Wessel, CEO of WayUp. "As a brand that gives wiiings to college students, Red Bull is the perfect partner to support National Intern Day, a moment that truly gives Interns the recognition and reward they deserve."
