Watts Water Technologies Completes Lead Free Foundry Expansion Project With PMAlliance Project Management Support
ATLANTA, Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Watts Water Technologies Inc. recently completed a multimillion dollar, 30,000 square foot expansion to its foundry in Franklin, New Hampshire with the help of PMAlliance project management support. The new Lead Free facility is Watts Water's largest facility in North America and will produce Lead Free products exclusively. This major facility expansion utilizes leading-edge foundry technology and reflects the company's commitment to the 'Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act', which goes into effect in January of 2014.
In July, 2012, PMAlliance, Inc., a Stone Mountain, Georgia company was contracted by Watts Water to assist their team with implementing a rigorous project management planning and control process for the new foundry. The planning approach was based on PMAlliance's Duration-Driven Methodology. Through a combination of up-front project planning and ongoing support, PMAlliance was able to help the Watts Water team deliver the Lead Free facility project in an extremely accelerated timeframe. From groundbreaking in August, 2012 to first production in May, 2013, the project was accomplished in just under nine months.
"This project had a very tight deadline in order for us to meet the requirements of the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act and our customers' demands. PMAlliance played a critical role in keeping all of the project details on track and keeping us informed as the project progressed," said Tyler Stone, Director of Operations at Watts Water Technologies' Franklin Facility.
"PMAlliance is thrilled to have worked with Watts Water on this high-profile facility project with obvious significance to Watts Water's global strategy. Given the aggressive timeline for the opening of the new foundry and the requirement to 'get it right the first time', the decision to partner with PMAlliance shows the importance that Watts Water executives place on our rigorous project management approach," said Thomas Stevens, the Founder of PMAlliance, Inc.
