TROY, Mich., Dec. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Walsh College has signed a reverse transfer agreement (RTA) with St. Clair County Community College (SC4), Port Huron, Mich., enabling students to earn an associate degree while pursuing a higher-level business or information technology degree at Walsh College.

The RTA, the fifth signed by Walsh, facilitates the transfer of credits from Walsh College to SC4. It allows students to meet the requirements required for a SC4 associate degree, helping them earn an additional academic credential.
Previously, students could transfer from SC4 to Walsh with an appropriate number of credits but prior to fulfilling requirements for an associate degree. Now, eligible students can earn credit for the associate degree while pursuing a bachelor's degree at Walsh.
With the RTA, eligible students can graduate with both an associate degree from SC4 and a bachelor's degree from Walsh College, once requirements are met.
"Walsh has been a long-standing supporter of SC4 and the Port Huron community," said Stephanie Bergeron, president and CEO, Walsh College. "This RTA formally strengthens the relationship between our respective colleges, demonstrating our shared commitment to student success and long-term academic achievement."
In addition, Walsh and SC4 have renewed an articulation agreement that allows SC4 students to transfer a maximum of 82 credits toward several Walsh College bachelor's degree programs, including the bachelor of accountancy degree; the bachelor of business administration degree with a major in accounting processes, finance, general business, management or marketing; or the bachelor of science in information technology.
Walsh College's other RTAs are with Macomb Community College, signed in 2014, and Schoolcraft College, Mott Community College, and Henry Ford College, all signed in 2015.
