CINCINNATI, May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Phillips Edison & Company announced today that Walmart has signed a 42,000-square-foot lease to open a Neighborhood Market at Nor-Dan Shopping Center in Danville, VA. The store is planned to open in 2016 and will employ approximately 95 people.
"The Walmart Neighborhood Market will be an outstanding addition to Nor-Dan, and we are excited for our center to host the first Neighborhood Market in the Danville area," said Ron Meyers, Senior Vice President of Leasing of Phillips Edison. "We are pleased to expand our relationship with Walmart and bring another Neighborhood Market to a community we serve," he said.

Walmart Neighborhood Markets were designed in 1998 as a smaller-footprint option for communities in need of a pharmacy, affordable fresh groceries and select household merchandise. Neighborhood Markets also give customers access to items online through their Site to Store service, which makes all of the merchandise of Walmart.com available for purchase and delivered for free right to your hometown store.
Nor-Dan Shopping Center is a 161,428-square-foot community center located at the intersection of Nor-Dan Drive and Rt. 29, Danville's main artery. The center is anchored by Big Lots and It's Fashion Metro.
