WakeMed Chooses Ingenious Med and Thomson Reuters for Unified Solution
ATLANTA, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- WakeMed Health & Hospitals is the first to adopt Clinical Xpert™ Billing, a charge capture solution from Ingenious Med and Thomson Reuters.
Following the announcement of the Ingenious Med and Thomson Reuters partnership in February, WakeMed elected to utilize the new unified billing solution, a decision largely based on its experience with Clinical Xpert™ Navigator and need for enhanced charge capture.
"We had to do something different with charge capture for our group of multispecialty physicians," WakeMed CMIO Ben Alexander, MD said. "After Thomson Reuters announced its partnership with Ingenious Med, we explored options and decided this was the way we wanted to go. Ingenious Med has a good reputation and intuitive workflow."
A desire to keep patient care as the main focus had WakeMed physicians looking for a quick and easy-to-use solution with effortless patient handoff. WakeMed physicians have high expectations that Navigator will provide the capability to easily flow back and forth between charge capture and patient data.
Another benefit Dr. William Pittman, WakeMed Director of Hospital Medicine, is looking forward to is the ability to track the physician success through the variety of physician and practice reports offered by Ingenious Med.
"As Director, this solution will allow me to get more efficient reports," Pittman said. "I believe I will have better assurances that all patient charges will be captured appropriately and that physicians in my group will have a better experience entering charges."
Excited about the partnership, Ingenious Med CEO Hart Williford said, "Our charge capture solution software is a great addition to Navigator, and we are looking forward to working alongside both WakeMed and Thomson Reuters to cultivate this new relationship."
