Wakaya Perfection Expands Organic Wellness Offerings, Unveils Sea Salt, Turmeric And Ginger Pop! Gourmet Popcorn
Wakaya Perfection Brand Introduces New Organic Wellness Collection to Eat, Drink & Thrive
NEW YORK, April 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- David H. Gilmour, acclaimed entrepreneur and FIJI Water founder, will expand the Wakaya Perfection wellness collection in 2014 with the introduction of Fijian Kosher Sea Salt and 100% Organic Fijian Turmeric Powder, as well as debut its first-ever brand collaboration with POP! Gourmet Popcorn. Complementing the existing organic and nutrient-rich Wakaya Perfection Organic Pink Fijian Ginger Powder, the new lifestyle products offer extensive health benefits* when used in a variety of culinary, beverage and spa applications and bring a unique piece of the private Fijian island of Wakaya to mainstream audiences. In addition, the Wakaya Perfection Organic Pink Fijian Ginger Powder and Fijian Kosher Sea Salt will both be used as key ingredients for a strategic partnership with POP! Gourmet Popcorn, adding three new ginger and sea salt-based flavors to their all-natural, gluten-free collection.
The Fijian Kosher Sea Salt, debuting in Spring 2014, is born from Wakaya Island's apple-jade reefs where Mr. Gilmour founded The Wakaya Club & Spa. Drawn from the pristine reefs, the Fijian seawater undergoes a desalination process and the large premium crystals are solar dried on Wakaya's white sand beaches. Just by adding a pinch, the Sea Salt adds a vibrant flavor to fresh and cooked foods. The large white crystals reveal a clean, refreshing taste, and can be separated easily in the palm of your hand and sprinkled on finished foods. In addition to the culinary experience, the Fijian Kosher Sea Salt is lower in sodium than most sea salts (310 mg) and may aid with digestion, help build a strong immune system, act as a sleeping aid, detoxify and draw out toxins and ease respiratory issues.
The Organic Fijian Turmeric Powder, launching in Fall 2014, will be introduced just as the spice, often utilized in food, juices and cocktails, gains mainstream popularity. Wakaya's organic Fijian turmeric seed is proprietary and indigenous to the Island; the plant, which is a part of the ginger family, has been used for thousands of years for its diverse and powerful healing properties and as a key ingredient in South/Southeast Asian cooking. A rich yellowish golden color, the soft spice sheds a uniquely warm taste that is often earthy and used in curry powders, mustards, butter and cheeses. It is known for its extensive beauty and medicinal benefits* and may help in preventing cancer, easing arthritis and joint pains, headaches, colds and menstrual problems, and also may aid in detoxifying the liver, boosting the metabolism, speeding up wound healing and the remodeling of damaged skin.
Wakaya Perfection will enter into its first brand collaboration within their Collaborative Brand Collection by partnering with POP! Gourmet Popcorn to launch three flavors of organic premium popcorn using the pink Fijian ginger powder and sea salt cultivated directly from Wakaya island. Savory flavors include:
- Organic Pink Fijian Ginger, Fijian Kosher Sea Salt and Caramel
- Organic Pink Fijian Ginger and Garlic
- Organic Pink Fijian Ginger, Cane Sugar and Orange Zest
The Ginger, Sea Salt and Caramel is a sweet indulgence, while the Ginger and Garlic offers a savory flavor with a touch of heat. Lastly, the Ginger, Cane Sugar and Orange Zest is a light and refreshing alternative to the two stronger flavors. All three flavors are the perfect and refreshing all-natural snack to grab on the go.
"This is a very exciting time of growth for Wakaya Perfection with the extension of our organic wellness collection. Our Sea Salt and Turmeric Powder are rare, pure products that aid in enhancing the collection's message to incorporate these premium, all-natural, preventative products into your daily health ritual. In addition, we've chosen to extend our brand through strategic collaborations with like-minded companies such as Pop! Gourmet Popcorn, to continue to offer healthy options to the consumer," comments Founder David H. Gilmour. "They are the ideal partner to deliver a healthy and vibrant taste to one of the most iconic snacks: popcorn."
