VMS to Canada - Soon all of North America can "See what I'm saying"
STOCKHOLM, September 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
The VMS messenger app, already available in the U.S., will be marketed by a subsidiary of Swedish Ironroad AB (publ). VMS is a video message service that can be downloaded for free as an app. The service is used between mobile users, video bloggers and companies that want to communicate directly with their customers via mobile phones.
The Canadian market is strategically important because VMS has exciting content in the app from U.S. and other markets. In addition, Ironroad recently launched VMS for BlackBerry, which has a large market share in Canada. Together with the already available apps for iPhone and Android, more than 85% of smart phone users in Canada will now be able to use VMS.
Ironroad Canada will be headed by Niklas Holm, who previously worked at McKinsey & Company as a project manager serving leading companies within telecom and high-tech in Europe and North America.
- Our goal is to establish VMS as an important communication channel for smart phone users and businesses in Canada. Canada has well developed sports-, retail- and media- industries where VMS has proven to be a competitive product to reach end users directly in the mobile phone, says Niklas Holm.
- We continue to successfully pursue our strategy to establish ourselves in new markets. In Canada we can reach a French-speaking audience as well, which makes it easier when we eventually establish VMS in France. We will also see many synergies between VMS in Canada, USA and the Philippines, says Magnus Kniving, CEO of Ironroad AB (publ).
