On December 14th, the Vi Community came together for one of the largest mobilizations of its kind, organizing 92 events from California to Florida and all across Canada. Making a difference one meal at a time, volunteers in Joplin, MO assembled and donated baskets of Vi-Shape® Nutritional Shake Mix, Vi Crunch™ Protein Super Cereal, Nutra-Cookies and blenders to local charities, including the Boys & Girls clubs. Other events ranged from clothing and toy drives, delivering Vi-Cares packages to nursing homes and filling gift bags with stuffed animals and books for children in need.
"Giving back and participating in community volunteer projects are meaningful ways to share an experience that shows first-hand how their own actions make a real difference in a life or in the world," said Ryan Blair, ViSalus Co-Founder and CEO. "The World's Largest Giving Day program is a tradition that we're proud to continue, and our Promoters, Customers and employees are beyond passionate about making a difference for the communities we live in."
ViSalus kicked-off the season of giving in late-November with a promotion dubbed Green Friday. This promotional challenge triggered the donation of 8,400 nutritious Vi-Shape shake pouches equating to 252,000 shake meals. Also, in Michigan, the Vi Community Challenge matching program resulted in the donation of 1,200 Vi-Shape Shake pouches (36,000 shake meals) to the Feeding America's affiliate, Detroit ZC Cluster. All tallied, this massive mobilization delivered meaningful donations to more than 264 charities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
ViSalus employees in the Troy, MI office divided into teams and used donated goods to build a standing structure that creatively reflected each team's idea of holiday spirit. Overall, the Troy office collected five pallets totaling 4,757 cans of food. ViSalus employees in the Los Angeles office held a Project Angel Wings toy drive party, which resulted in 80 children and families receiving holiday gifts.
Online activity mirrored the passion of the ViSalus promoters in the field with social media posts sharing stories and photos of the day's events. The #ViCares hashtag was used across all social media channels, including the ViSalus Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. "The Vi-Cares program is a foundational element of our business model," commented Risa Jewell, ViSalus Director of Cause Marketing. "Giving of ourselves to better our community is something we strive for every day through our numerous programs, including PROJECT 10™ Kids. We thank everyone who participated in this timely event."
