Cengage Learning to Highlight Most Effective Uses of Technology to Increase Student Engagement, Outcomes
BOSTON, Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A recent study found that student engagement and outcomes improve when instructors require digital course material. To celebrate and recognize innovative instructors for their success in increasing student engagement through technology, Cengage Learning today announced the launch of its Make It Count instructor video contest. The contest will showcase instructors' unique best practices for increasing student engagement and success through the use of digital teaching and learning solutions.
Instructors are encouraged to submit an original two-minute (or less) video featuring their favorite digital assignment -- demonstrating how the assignment increases student engagement. An independent panel of judges will select 10 finalists in April, and three winners will be determined by public voting by peers. Winners will be featured on the Make It Count instructor contest website and will receive donations to scholarship funds at the instructors' institutions.
What: Cengage Learning's Make It Count contest invites post-secondary instructors to submit a two-minute (or less) video on digital assignments. Prizes include a paid trip to a national conference of the winner's choice and donations to a scholarship fund offered by the winning instructors' institutions.
Who: The contest is open to all active post-secondary instructors.
When: Entries must be submitted via the Make It Count contest website before 11:59 pm on Wednesday, April 13. Independent judges will evaluate submissions and select a number of finalist videos to be featured on the Cengage Learning website. Three winning submissions will be chosen via a public vote.
