NEW YORK, April 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Victor Ortiz, PHR, has been selected to fill the position of Executive Director for the Acelero Learning Monmouth/Middlesex County program. In this position, Mr. Ortiz will oversee the program's 13 Head Start and Early Head Start centers with over 300 staff members serving close to 1,200 children and families. Mr. Ortiz began his career with the organization in 2006 as Acelero Learning's inaugural Vice President of Human Resources. Since October 2011, Victor has served as the Acting Executive Director of Acelero Learning Monmouth/Middlesex County, providing excellent leadership as he transitioned from working at the company's New York-based Support Center to a direct services function based in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Acelero Learning Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of Field Operations Henry Wilde declared, "We are extremely excited for Victor Ortiz to serve the children and families of Monmouth and Middlesex Counties as our new Executive Director. Victor has shown tremendous dedication and commitment to ensuring that Acelero Learning successfully provides high-quality services in all delegate programs, and I am confident that he will build on his track record of strong leadership in the Acelero Learning Monmouth/Middlesex program."
"I am truly humbled and honored to be chosen as our new Executive Director," commented Mr. Ortiz. "It will be a sincere privilege to directly oversee the programmatic Head Start, Early Head Start and Home- based services we provide to nearly 1,200 children and families across Monmouth and Middlesex counties on a daily basis. I am extremely fortunate to be surrounded by a mission-driven Board of Directors, passionate Policy Committee of parents and highly talented staff; while externally supported by five school districts and dozens of long-standing community partners. Together, we are relentlessly committed to tangibly closing the achievement gap through world-class services, systems and learning facilities."
Acelero Learning Monmouth/Middlesex County's Board Member, Doug Whiteman announced, "I am pleased to announce that the Board and Policy [Committee] have jointly selected Victor Ortiz as the new Executive Director of Acelero Learning Monmouth/Middlesex County. [When] Victor first came to our program this past autumn, I am sure that he didn't know what he was getting himself into. But I believe that we've all seen that with each day here, his heart, his mind, and his excitement have grown -- and that it did not take long for [Victor] to realize that there is no place he would rather be than working closely, everyday... to help build the best Head Start program in the country."
In his former role as Acelero Learning's Vice President of Human Resources, Mr. Ortiz oversaw Acelero Learning's growth from 90 employees to over 750 employees. During his tenure, the Human Resources department was awarded Aberdeen Group's Human Capital Achievement Award, among others. Victor has been with Acelero Learning through three Federal Monitoring Reviews, and the Human Resources department has remained in full compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards. Mr. Ortiz holds a Bachelor's degree in English and Education from Bucknell University and Human Resources certification from the Cornell University School of Industrial Labor and Relations.
