CHICAGO, June 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Vibes, the leading mobile engagement platform for enterprises, today announced that it has appointed Sophie Vu as chief marketing officer and Bill Scott as senior vice president, international. In their respective roles, Vu will lead worldwide marketing for Vibes and guide strategic direction for the company's expanding global brand, and Scott will direct strategy development and implementation across the company's international presence in Europe and future expansion markets.
The appointments of Vu and Scott will solidify Vibes' management team as the company continues to grow rapidly and drive innovation in the mobile marketing industry. In the last 12 months, Vibes has expanded into the U.K. market, acquired mobile marketing and digital solutions company Red Fish Media, received a $45 million investment from Syniverse and orchestrated a highly successful free burrito mobile wallet campaign with Chipotle, which resulted in over 5 million offer requests and 3.5 million redemptions.
Vibes works with more than 150 global brands, including The Gap and Ford, to run sophisticated mobile marketing campaigns across SMS, mobile wallet and other channels. Customers that can measure incremental revenue recorded a return on investment of 368 percent, and Vibes' largest retail customers collectively generated over $230 million in topline revenue from mobile marketing campaigns in 2016. Vibes has also captured significant market share in SMS, handling 37 percent of total U.S. short codes – the unique phone numbers brands generate to send text messages to subscribers.
"Sophie and Bill will play pivotal roles as we continue to fuel our rapid growth and accelerate our momentum," said Jack Philbin, co-founder and CEO of Vibes. "Sophie's deep expertise in software marketing across multiple industries, combined with her leadership experience across all aspects of go-to-market functions, made her a compelling candidate for this position, while Bill brings tremendous global experience as we embark on an aggressive international expansion strategy. These strong additions to our management team position Vibes to maintain its dominance as the market leader."
With more than 18 years of experience growing and leading innovative tech companies, Vu has a strong pulse on the current and emerging market landscape. Her background encompasses strategy and management of marketing, communications, brand and product strategy for leading brands such as Sparkcentral, a visionary customer engagement solution; Kony, a leading enterprise mobile application platform provider; Pegasystems, Symantec, Adobe, Motorola, Yahoo!, ESPN, and Google. Vu has a graduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles Anderson School of Management.
"I've been very impressed with how Vibes has become the preferred partner for global brands to increase revenue through engaging mobile experiences," Vu said. "When an opportunity arose to join this highly talented, driven and passionate team, I knew I had to be a part of it. I look forward to building a world-class marketing team and helping Vibes extend its market leadership and drive its next stage of growth."
Scott brings more than 35 years of experience in technology and sales management and has spent the last 16 years in the mobile, marketing technology and enterprise software industries. His experience spans from the earliest consumer data services and mobile data networks to today's marketing tech and consumer apps, as well as multiple global markets, including EMEA, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. Prior to Vibes, Scott served as senior vice president of sales at Gild and chief revenue officer at GetJar, which was acquired by Sungy Mobile, a publicly traded mobile ad tech company.
