VHA Inc. and UHC Complete Merger, Creating the Nation's Largest Member-owned Health Care Company
Announces Board of Directors
IRVING, Texas, April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- VHA Inc., the national health care network, and UHC, the alliance of the nation's leading not-for-profit academic medical centers, today announced the close of their transaction, that combines the businesses and operations of both organizations. The combined organization will continue to use separate market-facing brands until a new name is announced in early 2016. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
The newly combined organization offers superior access to leading practices, networking and knowledge sharing among its membership, which includes independent, community-based health care organizations as well as large, integrated systems and academic medical centers.

- Provides services to nearly 30 percent of the nation's hospitals, including virtually all the academic medical centers and health systems.

- Provides services to all of the top 10 hospitals on the US News and World Reports annual list of America's Top Hospitals.
- Delivers the industry's most in-depth clinical data combined with the nation's most robust supply chain data to address cost and quality.
