MIAMI, May 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Can you outcook Chef James? Or out-trend Mimi G.? Can you capture the King's crown?
It's Game of Crowns time, and new interest-based social messaging platform Versy is partnering with some of today's most popular social influencers to launch "King of Interests," a new feature that goes live today, letting users virtually joust with top experts in specific interest areas and compete for the chance to be crowned the "King" of that Interest
To celebrate the feature launch, users are invited to try and "capture the crowns" of the five influencers. Users can improve their rank by accruing followers, posting about their specific interests, and engaging with others. Users can follow their rise and fall in the ranks on the King of Interests Leaderboard. Those who climb the ranks and dethrone the King will win a trip to join Versy and the Influencer at one of the exclusive launch parties being held in Miami, New York and Los Angeles on June 9, June 18 and June 23, respectively.
The influencers participating in the launch competition and who will hand over their crowns during the June events to the winners who dethrone them are:
- Chef James Tahhan (Interest: Food): Venezuelan television personality and official chef of Telemundo's morning show "Un Nuevo Día."
- Mimi G. (Interest: Style): Award-winning trend expert recently featured on Project Runway Junior alongside Tim Gunn on Lifetime TV, and named "Best Shopping Inspiration" by InStyle Magazine.
- Laura Sanchez (Interest: Beauty): Beauty and makeup trendsetter, and contributor to Univision's "Despierta America."
- Matthew Windey (Interest: Comedy): Viral video comedy star.
- Lindsay Casinelli (Interest: Sports): Host of the weekly sports show "República Deportiva" and co-host of "Contacto Deportivo" on Univision.
Launched on April 12, 2016, Versy connects people based on shared interests.
"King of Interests makes Versy different from other social messaging platforms. We're using gamification to deepen engagement with our community by challenging their skills and knowledge. I can't wait to see how they do against our experts," said Neil Hamilton, Vice President of Business Development, Versy. "In developing this platform we wanted to build a place where people can create and share content about things they love. But more than that, we wanted to make the user experience as rich as possible. King of Interests helps accomplish both."
With more than 7,500 interests to explore inside the platform, ranging from pop culture and fitness to food and art and beyond, Versy enables users to become influencers in their own right by sharing interest-specific content and encouraging conversation with their followers and the wider Versy user base. Outside of the influencer launch competition, the users who are crowned Kings of specific interest areas will be featured on the interest profile page as well as given the ability to change the profile image and avatar using their own personal imagery until another user rises in the ranks and "captures" the King's crown.
