Veestro Partners With Non-Profit Global Movement To Launch Meatless Monday Meal Packs
8-Week Monday Meal Pack Encourages Users to Cut Out Meat One Day a Week
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Veestro, the leading gourmet plant-based meal delivery service offering freshly prepared and fully-cooked meals to homes across the country, announced today a partnership with Meatless Monday, a non-profit initiative of The Monday Campaigns. Starting October 3, Veestro will introduce the Meatless Monday Pack consisting of twenty-four meals (eight breakfasts, eight lunches, and eight dinners) to offer eight weeks of effortless Meatless Mondays. Working in collaboration with the Center for a Livable Future (CLF) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Meatless Monday is dedicated to reducing meat consumption by 15%, both for personal health and the health of the planet.
Studies have shown that a diet low in meat and high in plant foods including vegetables, fruits, whole grains and legumes is associated with a reduced risk of developing chronic conditions like cancer, cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes, and obesity. It can also help reduce carbon emissions and save precious resources like fossil fuels and fresh water.
"By offering a convenient package of freshly prepared, fully cooked, meatless meals, Veestro makes it easy to go meatless on Mondays," shared Monica Klausner, co-founder and CMO of Veestro. "You don't have to be fully vegan to enjoy plant-based meals, and we want people to have the option of starting with a small commitment – like skipping meat one day a week!"
"We are excited to be partnering with Veestro whose mission is greatly aligned with ours," shared Dana Smith, brand director of Meatless Monday. "Veestro makes it easy – and delicious - for people to go meatless each Monday for their personal health and the health of the planet."
To celebrate the partnership, Veestro will host a giveaway for a Meatless Monday Meal Pack along with a Meatless Monday branded apron to five lucky winners. Participants can enter to win via Veestro.com through October 31, 2016.
The Meatless Monday pack retails for $199 and is available at Veestro.com. For more information about Veestro, as well as up-to-date news, trends, recipes and more, please visit www.veestro.com.

About Meatless Monday
Meatless Monday is a nonprofit public health initiative founded by Sid Lerner, chairman of The Monday Campaigns in association with the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future. The campaign encourages the public to cut back on meat consumption one day a week to reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer, and lessen the environmental impact of meat production on climate change, water and land use. The campaign is founded on research that demonstrates Monday is the day we are most primed to start and sustain a healthy new behavior. Since its launch 13 years ago, Meatless Monday has become an international movement in more than 40 countries with support from governments, schools, celebrities, restaurants, and local and global organizations around the world.
