Vayama Brings Go Somewhere Tour to San Francisco Bay Area
Mountain View Based Online Travel Agency Shares Mobile Marketing Tour Experience
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- After three months on the road, Vayama (www.vayama.com), a Mountain View based online travel agency uniquely focused on international travel, is bringing the Go Somewhere Tour home to the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Vayama Go Somewhere Tour, a 12-market U.S. campaign designed to inspire people to think about where in the world they'd like to travel, kicked off in Los Angeles in April and has since been crisscrossing the western part of the United States. To date the tour has stopped at more than a dozen large events and is set to cover over 6,200 miles by the tour's end in August. Now in its final leg, the tour will have a two week debut in the Bay Area, including an presence at the 4th of July celebration on Pier 41 and participation in the Sunday Streets festival on July 7.
The centerpiece of the Go Somewhere Tour is an 18-foot, custom-designed truck that serves as a hub for global discovery and travel inspiration. At each event along the way, hundreds of people line up for their turn to play the Game Show and compete against one another on international trivia. Even more people have taken advantage of the truck's passport photo booth, providing them with passport-ready photos that put them one step closer to the international trip of their dreams. Inside the truck, people are invited to play with the custom-created See More iPad app, featuring an interactive world map that leads users to compelling facts, photos and time-lapse videos about different cities around the world. Those interested can even sign up for destination-specific content on the city of their choosing.
During the San Francisco Bay Area tour stop, people who encounter the Go Somewhere Tour truck can enter the Go Somewhere Sweepstakes. By the end of the tour, 12 lucky First Prize winners (1 winner in each market) will have received a U.S. $1,500 travel voucher, redeemable on Vayama.com. The Grand Prize winner will receive an international trip valued at $5,500, including round trip airfare for two on Emirates Airline, plus U.S. $2,000 spending money. The sweepstakes has also been opened up to the Facebook community for a chance to win the Grand Prize.
"This tour has been an incredible opportunity to meet people across the country who share our passion for international travel," said Joan Ioannou, Brand Marketing Director for Vayama.com. "The Bay Area is an important market for us because of the vibrant international communities and major airline hub to destinations worldwide. Additionally this is our home and we are proud to be bringing the tour to the Bay Area for everyone here to experience."
