Valentine's Day Could Mean a Bedroom Shake Up for Many Couples, According to the TROJAN(R) Brand
New Survey Uncovers Vibrators and Valentine's Day Make a Hot Combo
PRINCETON, N.J., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- This year, V-Day might just stand for Vibrator Day, according to findings from a new survey released today by the makers of TROJAN® Brand Sexual Health Products. According to the survey, nearly a quarter (21%) of all Americans plan to use a vibrator with their partners on Valentine's Day. Movie theaters and restaurants need not worry, though, since 50 percent of couples also plan to spend the night with the traditional dinner and a movie date. Others are spending the big day a bit more low-key, with 20% of people planning to keep the couch company with a pint of ice cream.
Give Good Vibes
The Trojan "Vibe Day" Survey, a national survey of vibrator and personal massager behaviors around the Valentine's Day holiday, finds that one in ten people plan to purchase as a gift a vibrating product or sex toy for themselves or someone else this holiday.
"Given the choice, about one-fifth of Americans prefer to spend Valentine's Day with their significant other and their vibrator, as opposed to one or the other," said Robyn Safran, Product Manager for TROJAN® Vibrations. Even though Valentine's Day partners may change, there seems to be one constant: About one in ten coupled women have had a longer relationship with their own vibrator than their significant other.
America's Most Buzz-worthy Cities
From a local perspective, the survey finds that couples and singles plan to spice things up in a big way this Valentine's Day. Among the top five U.S. cities, Los Angeles will be shaking things up in the bedroom the most by using a vibrator (24%), followed by Chicago (20%), Atlanta (18%), New York (18%) and Dallas-Fort Worth (17%)(1).
Out of the five cities surveyed, New Yorkers may rank 4th in their V-day vibrator usage plans, however they do have big ambitions as the most likely of all cities surveyed to purchase a vibrator or sex toy for themselves or someone else come February 14. Following the Big Apple (21%), is Los Angeles (14%), Atlanta (13%), Dallas-Fort Worth (13%) and Chicago (12%)(1).
