VIENNA, Va., May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) is hosting a webinar on "Utah's New Law: Online Learning State Policy Incorporates 10 Elements from Digital Learning Now" on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, from 2-3 p.m. (Eastern) via Elluminate.
Utah became the first state in the United States to turn Digital Learning Now's "Ten Elements of Quality Online Learning" into a comprehensive state policy.
This iNACOL Special Webinar will provide information about the most significant policy changes addressed in the Utah legislation as well as information about how other states can develop similar policies. In addition, representatives from two online learning providers who serve the state of Utah will provide their perspective on how the legislation will enable them to serve students throughout the state.
"This year, Utah is emerging as a leader in adopting a new law building directly on the ten elements of high quality learning. The ground-breaking law provides a framework for enabling students to have more personalized learning experiences at any time and at any place, while ensuring that every student can access the best teachers through innovative uses of technology and digital leaning, as envisioned in Digital Learning Now. Utah provides a remarkable exemplar for state policy to innovate and expand educational opportunities for youth," said Susan Patrick, President and CEO of iNACOL.
Presenters include: Robyn Bagley, Board Chair, Parents for Choice in Education;
DeLaina Tonks, Director, Open High School of Utah; and Mickey Revenaugh, Executive Vice President, Connections Learning.
