This year's edition includes new rankings for five of the largest professional graduate school disciplines—business, law, education, engineering, and medicine—as well as specialty rankings within each discipline. The 2014 rankings also include updated rankings for the social sciences and humanities and library and information studies, which were last ranked in 2009.
"When searching for a graduate program, there are many key factors students research," said Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News & World Report. "By providing the best and most current data on these programs, U.S. News seeks to ease the decision making process."
U.S. News made some changes to the Best Graduate Schools 2014 methodologies. In the law school rankings, U.S. News incorporated new employment data into the computation of employment measures for 2011 J.D. graduates employed at both graduation and nine months after graduation. The business school methodology also changed: In the full-time and part-time MBA rankings, admissions selectivity was computed by including GRE scores of students entering in fall 2012. The other changes in the rankings methodologies for the 2014 Best Graduate Schools were minor. For more details, please visit www.usnews.com/gradmeth.
