U.S. Aviation Delegation selects Pan Am International Flight Academy for China Trade Mission
MIAMI, Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Commercial Service, a trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce, in cooperation with the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC), has invited Pan Am International Flight Academy, a global aviation training company headquartered in Miami, Florida, to participate in a joint Aviation Trade Mission next month in Beijing, China.
The trade mission delegation including Pan Am and other select U.S. companies within the aviation sector, will participate in China's largest aviation trade show, being held November 7th – 14th in four cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Zhuhai.
Delegates will join the U.S. Pavilion at the Zhuhai Airshow and participate in prescreened one-on-one meetings and networking sessions with Chinese partners and key aviation decision-makers from the Chinese government and industry. These include the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC), the Civil Aviation Industry of China (AVIC), Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), as well as key maintenance, repair and overhaul MROs like AMECO, GAMECO and MTU.
China is the world's fastest growing civil aviation sector and is expected to add 5,000 new aircraft valued at $600 billion over the next 20 years. Commercial opportunities exist in multiple sectors, including tier‐one suppliers, niche‐parts manufacturing, airport design/construction, pilot and mechanic training and general aviation.
Participants will attend the Zhuhai Airshow, enhancing their profile at the only international aerospace trade show in China endorsed by the Chinese central government. The Zhuhai Airshow boasts attendees from over 600 companies from 35 countries, including the countries largest airlines, plus more than 100,000 trade visitors..
Pan Am International Flight Academy has been invited as one of a few qualified training academies certified to teach and produce qualified pilots flying within CAAC airspace. The company has over 80 years of experience in aviation training as the original training division of Pan American Airways and is a global leader, training governments and airlines personnel from around the world. Pan Am has the largest, most diverse fleet of full-motion jet simulators in the world.
Captain Gregory Darrow, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing for Pan Am, a member of the U.S. delegation states: " China aviation is booming. The Chinese government and private carriers can't keep up with growth demands for more planes and qualified pilots. The government is slowly moving away from long-held traditional training requirements and beginning to see the value and advantages of more modern practices including full-motion simulator time. We are pleased that Pan Am has been invited to participate in this trade mission and has been so enthusiastically welcomed for our training options and capabilities in the region."
The company provides CAAC Type Rating Training, Airline Crew Training, Cabin Crew Training, Dispatcher Training, Aircraft Maintenance Training, ATC Training, and Aviation English Training. They have B737-300, B737NG, B747-400, B767-300, B777, and A320 full-motion simulators available for training at their partner facility in Tokyo.
