TEMPE, Ariz., July 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- US Airways (NYSE: LCC) today announced the appointment of Christine Kelly Singley to managing director, corporate communications. In her new role, Singley will aid the communications department as the airline prepares to close its merger with American Airlines later this fall. She will play a key role in combining the US Airways and American Airlines communications departments to support the new airline.

Singley joins US Airways from Delta Air Lines where she oversaw the company's executive, international, operational and internal communications. Her experience includes crisis planning/response, strategic messaging, media relations, social media strategy, employee communications, labor relations and policy communications. Prior to joining Delta Air Lines, Singley worked for Fleishman-Hillard International Communications, Inc. as a senior account executive. She has also served as director of communications for the state of Missouri Department of Higher Education and deputy communications director for Missouri Governor Bob Holden.
Singley holds an undergraduate degree in Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
