WASHINGTON, March 22, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation (USPAACC) is pleased to announce that UPS CEO David Abney is Chair, USPAACC CelebrAsian Procurement Conference 2016 – the country's largest annual business-to-business conference convened by Pan Asian Americans to connect with large, medium and small enterprises.
CelebrAsian, USPAACC's flagship national event, will be held on June 1-3, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Georgia.
"I am pleased to serve as this year's Honorary Chair of the CelebrAsian Procurement Conference," said David Abney, UPS CEO. "This annual national business event held by USPAACC attracts the country's best and brightest Pan Asian American suppliers and creates greater access for business growth. UPS supports these enterprises as they work to capture mainstream market opportunities. This event is especially timely considering the positive impact of global trade agreements like the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) on Pan Asian businesses."
"We are honored to have Mr. Abney as our Conference Chair, proof positive that a global powerhouse like UPS recognizes the significant contributions of small and minority businesses that continue to be the country's backbone and wellspring of innovation and job creation," said Susan Au Allen, USPAACC National President & CEO. "UPS has been a steadfast USPAACC member and supporter on the national and regional levels – for 20 years out of our 30-year history – and continues to provide invaluable counsel and guidance to USPAACC management and members nationwide in the supply chain marketplace."
"USPAACC is proud to bring a national conference of this depth and magnitude to Atlanta – home to one of the most vibrant Pan Asian American communities in the country today and a vital global hub of major Fortune corporations like UPS," Allen added.
Conference theme is "Today's Vision, Tomorrow's Reality: Cheers to the Next 30 Years!"
Host Co-Chairs are The Coca-Cola Company, Nissan, SunTrust and UPS. Asian American Business Co-Chairs are Ampcus and SoftPath Systems. Legacy Co-Chairs are PepsiCo and Wells Fargo.
Through innovative programs and cutting-edge market intelligence, such as Ideas Marketplace: "What's Your Pitch?", Chief Procurement Officers Forum, Networking with CPOs, CTO/CIO Forum, Grow Your Business with Google, Doing Business with Financial Services Companies, Doing Business in the Healthcare Industry, Fast 100 Asian American Business Awards, Asian American Chambers Summit, Supplier Diversity Managers Caucus, Supplier Trade Fair, One-on-One Business Matchmaking Meetings, and many more, CelebrAsian provides a roadmap for Pan Asian American suppliers to effectively navigate the supplier diversity arena and access procurement opportunities.
Last June, USPAACC celebrated its 30th Anniversary in Bethesda, Maryland with the largest gathering of its kind – including the CEOs of the country's other four largest minority supplier organizations who came to celebrate the milestone: Joset Wright-Lacy of Nat'l Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC); Javier Palomarez of US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC); Ron Busby of US Black Chambers (USBC); and Lance Mitchell of Nat'l Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).
In all, 880 Conference participants gathered for 3 days under one roof, including 411 Asian American suppliers representing a wide variety of industries, who came from all over the country to connect with buyers from 91 Fortune 1000 corporations, 34 Government Agencies and 14 Media partners.
This year, hundreds of pre-scheduled one-on-one business matchmaking meetings will be held between suppliers and buyers, with about 50 commodities that major corporations and government agencies are slated to purchase in the coming 18-24 months.
