LAS VEGAS, Aug. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital World Expo, a business, tech and media conference at the Mirage Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada Sept. 27-29, has just announced a major addition to its curriculum. The conference now has a class exclusively devoted to Pinterest, the social photo sharing service.

In keeping with the goal of presenting only the most relevant new solutions for marketers and tech developers, Digital World Expo chose to adjust its curriculum to include a class on the third-largest social network. Some key takeaways from the Pinterest class include applying Pinterest for business application and objectives, tips for driving high-volume traffic, integrating Pinterest with other social media outlets, and generating leads and sales through Pinterest.
Lindsay Metter, CEO of BlueLuna Marketing and speaker for this session, thinks any business can benefit from creating boards and "pinning" their interests for followers to see.
"Pinterest, in its most simplistic form, is a brilliant visual platform," Metter said. "But their are also amazing benefits to the service. Businesses can pin flyers, share promotional materials or utilize other tactics that can easily drive traffic and increase sales."
In the class, Metter will discuss the benefits of Pinterest and monetization techniques companies can take with them after the conference ends.
"Pinterest is a high driver of traffic and helps companies, especially those with visual products, engage their audience," Metter said. "Use it correctly and users will flock to your website."
Digital World Expo Event Chair Shawn Rorick explains how adding a Pinterest class fits the conference well.
"A key feature of Digital World Expo is the openness to adapt and adjust in order to emphasize new and emerging trends," Rorick said. "After discussion, we decided Pinterest was too new and relevant of a marketing tool to ignore."
Rorick says emphasis on new technology and business solutions is a theme that is not only limited to the curriculum and speakers.
"This is also why we have a low cost-of-entry for exhibitors and sponsors," Rorick explains. "Technology changes every day. If we set a price point that is unattainable for smaller businesses, we miss out on new or emerging trends that larger companies might not even be adopting yet. We could miss out on something great."
The Pinterest workshop is one of over 50 classes offered at Digital World Expo, a conference which brings the focus back to education and presenting practical business solutions for marketing, IT, advertising, tech, sales and media professionals.
