UHC and Datix Launch New Cloud-Based Patient Safety Program
CHICAGO, June 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UHC, an alliance of 118 US academic medical centers and 290 of their affiliated hospitals in the US, and Datix, a UK-based provider of patient safety technology solutions, have announced an expansion of the UHC Safety Intelligence™ Program. The leading program for improving patient safety at US hospitals has expanded to include a new cloud-based software component. UHC Safety Intelligence™, Powered by Datix® now offers a hosted patient safety software solution, enabling hospitals to securely access the database via the Internet.
"UHC Safety Intelligence™ provides members with the most comprehensive patient safety, risk, and claims data to improve overall hospital quality. The hosted software option offers additional convenience in implementing and maintaining this system," said Irene Thompson, UHC's president and chief executive officer.
The UHC Safety Intelligence™ Program combines an extensive patient safety and risk software suite with the UHC Applied Learning component, which includes aggregate data and analysis, best practices, proven tools, Web conferences, and networking opportunities.
The collaboration between the two companies, UHC and Datix, was announced in September 2012 and is intended to provide UHC members with access to additional patient safety information that can help improve overall care quality.
