TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Celebrates Managers Moving Forward Week
Thriving Franchise Continues Growth by Promoting Internal Hiring Initiatives
LANSING, Mich., Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the leading moving service franchise system, is committed to the advancement and empowerment of their employees to move up within the organization to leadership roles. The company is celebrating their ongoing effort to elevate careers with their inaugural Managers Moving Forward Week beginning January 6, 2014.
The week is dedicated to celebrating the successes of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® managers, as well as promoting and inspiring future success among existing employees within the system. In addition the brand aims to build awareness with the general public regarding potential opportunities in management roles at the company with more than 100 positions currently available.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is a brand dedicated to the success of both its corporate staff and its franchisees, along with their franchisees' office staff, movers, and drivers. In addition, the brand aims to continue spreading a spirit of accomplishment and achievement.
"One of the driving forces behind our brand's success is our commitment to the personal and professional wellbeing of our employees and a genuine focus and dedication to ongoing growth opportunity initiatives," said Sara Bennett, human resources director. "With our explosive growth, we're always on the move to hire, but we also want to take a week to spotlight our brand and provide our family of employees and franchisees encouragement to move up within the company."
A stellar example of personal and professional growth within the company, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® President Randy Shacka worked his way up from an intern in the marketing department while pursuing his degree in engineering at Michigan State University.
"TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is a company which encourages results and achievements in its team members," said Shacka. "As an employee who has reaped the benefits and rewards from experiencing a wide range of roles and responsibilities within the company, I have seen the value of a growth-centric system firsthand, and I'm a huge advocate."
Another example of a successful employee climbing the ladder is Ashley Skaggs, general manager of the Lansing TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® location, just a stone's throw from corporate's backyard. She has been with the brand for nearly nine years. Beginning as a receptionist, Skaggs moved her way through several positions — including customer service representative, after-hours team lead and sales support manager. She was recently promoted to her current position as general manager in December, and today she overseas 42 movers and 11 office staff members.
"This is a brand I believe in because it believes in me. My journey illustrates how hard work and passion go a long way, and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® recognizes and rewards employees who hope to grow with the brand and thrive," said Skaggs.
Additionally, Bert Kolz, president of Black Wolf Group, oversees eight TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® territories across Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota. Kolz joined the moving brand from a successful career in e-business, most notably as director of e-commerce at Lands' End, a premier American clothing retailer, and director of e-marketing for W.W. Grainger. Through his extensive managerial experience, Kolz understands the value and positive impact of great service for both customers and employees. Rather than recruiting from competitors, Kolz supports hiring talent from within the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system, and six of the eight moving offices within the Black Wolf Group system are currently run by general managers who started out as movers.
"The training which TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® provides — the systems, the support, and the way in which employees believe in and live the core values — are attractive," Kolz said. "Through corporate's solid support system, we can focus on growing our brand, thus increasing the positive opportunities available for our employees."
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® continues to foster growth and is an accessible opportunity for those seeking a fulfilling career. With franchise locations ranging from $600,000 to $6 million in annual revenue, opportunities at all experience levels are available.
