The grand-prize winner, Kathy Smith of Myers Flat, Calif., will receive 65,000 Best Western Rewards points in celebration of the hotel chain's 65th birthday. Smith was chosen at random, and her 65,000 points are redeemable for room nights, gift cards, airline miles and more.
"Our winning photo was taken in front of the BEST WESTERN Miner's Inn in Yreka, Calif. which is our favorite Best Western. We love to stay there, as they are rider-friendly and welcome our Yorkie dog Tina," said Smith. "I feel really lucky to have won as I actually damaged my camera before I took the photo. So in addition to redeeming the points for our future stays at Best Western hotels, I plan to use some of the points to get a new camera."
Lee Baldwin from Butte, Mont., also won, as he was the first Best Western Rewards member to take a photo in front of all three types of Best Western hotels: BEST WESTERN, BEST WESTERN PLUS and BEST WESTERN PREMIER. He is the winner of a $650 Travel Card which is good for travel at any of the more than 4,000 Best Western hotels worldwide.
In addition to Smith and Baldwin, each week during the contest three additional winners were randomly chosen to receive 5,000 Best Western Rewards points.
"Best Western is the only hotel chain to offer motorcycle riders a loyalty program -- Best Western Ride Rewards®, exclusively for bike enthusiasts, and we welcome travelers on two wheels with open arms," said Dorothy Dowling, Best Western senior vice president of marketing and sales. "This photo contest was a fun way for travelers to hit the open road and experience our three types of Best Western hotels – BEST WESTERN, BEST WESTERN PLUS and BEST WESTERN PREMIER."
Best Western Ride Rewards is the industry's only free loyalty program for guests traveling by motorcycle. Best Western Ride Rewards members automatically earn Gold Elite status when they sign up, allowing them to earn 10 points for every U.S. dollar spent on qualified room rates and 10 percent bonus points with each qualified stay at any Best Western hotel.
