Tupelo Furniture Market Introduces "Buyer Rewards Initiative," Providing Innovative Ways to Maximize the Experience for Retailers
TUPELO, Miss., May 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Retailers attend the Tupelo Furniture Market searching for new, cutting-edge products and services that will build traffic in their establishments and allow them to increase revenue and profit margins. The 52nd iteration of the furniture market in Tupelo, August 15-18, will offer buyers what they need to keep their establishments in the "black" as it always has; however, this season they can expect much, much more! In fact, the list of programs and packages designed to incentivize buyers to attend the furniture market is quite impressive! According to Kevin Seddon, president of the market, every program introduced in the last year has been designed to increase the opportunity for buyers and sellers to interact.
"Our mission is to provide the perfect wholesale environment for buyers and sellers of furniture to do business," said Seddon. "Two key elements for success in our mission include attracting as many buyers and sellers to market as possible and doing everything in our power for both to achieve a return on investment and/or return on expectation. We believe our Buyer Rewards Initiative will allow us to do both."
The Buyer Rewards Initiative is comprised of numerous offerings that benefit retailers who attend the market. They include the Super Early Bird Package, Show Your Badge Program, Hosted Buyer Program, Regional Buyer Shuttles, Buyer and Seller "Matchmaker" Initiative, "Lunch and Learn" Sessions, TOS Club Membership Buyer Benefits, TFM Show Dollars, and the TFM Weekend Pass. All but two of the offerings have been introduced in the last year.
"For the upcoming fall market, we have added TFM Show Dollars, TFM Weekend Pass and the TOS Club Membership," explained Candice Hall, director of buyer recruitment for the furniture market. "These programs will add excitement to the market and, to a large extent, a sense of 'buying' urgency because many of the incentives are available only during the market and in some cases only on the weekend."
Hall went on to explain that exhibiting companies have stepped up their efforts and now actively work year-round with Tupelo's Buyer Recruitment Department to target qualified buyers for the show and offer them components of the Buyer Rewards Initiative. According to Craig Steinweg, VP of sales eastern region for Perdue Woodworks, the launch of the "Matchmaker" program last spring began the collaborative effort for them.
"We were contacted by Buyer Recruitment and told about the range of new incentives being offered to retailers attending the market," said Steinweg. "We provided a targeted list of buyers that we thought needed to see what Tupelo had to offer, and we assisted the market recruiters in tailoring a package for each of them. The end result for the Buyers was an exceptional market, fueled by incredible deals. For us, only a few of our targeted retailers didn't attend the event, and the results far surpassed our expectations. That's exceptional! What other market does this."
