Trustpilot "Reviews For Everyone" Summit Reinforces The Increasing Importance Of Online Reviews And Ratings As Key Component In Business Strategy And Customer Journey Success
More than 100 industry leaders, including keynote speaker Neil Patel, converged in San Francisco to discuss the role of online ratings in establishing trust and transparency among customers
NEW YORK, April 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Trustpilot, the leading review community for global online shoppers, brought together some of the industry's foremost experts for an insightful discussion on the role of customer reviews in business strategies at its "Reviews for Everyone" Summit last evening in San Francisco. More than 100 marketers, e-commerce and customer service experts, innovators and other senior executives from some of the world's leading brands gathered to examine the evolving impact of and best practices in customer reviews.
The summit featured Neil Patel, a renowned entrepreneur and the co-founder of Crazy Egg, KISSMetrics and Hello Bar, who delivered a keynote speech entitled, "5 Techniques to Get 5 Stars: How to Get More and Better Online Reviews."
According to Patel, businesses with a thoughtful approach to generating and managing online reviews will enjoy substantial growth in revenue from employing a proactive strategy, but many business owners and marketers are not realizing those benefits because they may overlook, downplay or simply don't understand how reviews work as a tool to improve customer service, online reputation, lead generation and conversion rates.
"There's no disputing that businesses of all sizes benefit from including an online review strategy in their business plans, and it doesn't need to be a complicated process," he said. "If you pair a great product with great customer service, it all starts with simply asking customers to share a review."
The "Reviews for Everyone" event also included an in-depth discussion about best practices for incorporating reviews into digital marketing strategies and internal operational and customer service processes by an esteemed panel of experts, including Trustpilot partners: Andrea Hatch, Vice President of Operations at SelectQuote Insurance Services; Angelique Picanco, Social Media Manager at SquareTrade; Tracy Kellaher, Vice President of Business Development, Financial Institutions for Biz2Credit; and Jenn Prystupa, Social Media Strategist at OnDeck. The panel members shared how their organizations have implemented proactive review strategies customized to their unique customer journeys, and have leveraged reviews to drive business, build a sense of trust and community among consumers and prospective consumers, and internally measure and motivate their teams.
Guests were also treated to a case study presentation by Vivint, a Trustpilot partner and leader in home security and smart home technology. The Vivint team, including Jessica Snavely, Director of Digital Marketing, Logan England, Digital Marketing Analyst, and Ian Bell, Marketing Operations Manager, provided insights and inspiration on how to leverage reviews to optimize paid search, increase conversion rates, and boost click-through-rates across numerous digital marketing channels.
"For nearly the past 10 years, Trustpilot has pushed the global conversation on online reviews, and last night was no exception," said Fred Mather, Trustpilot General Manager, Americas. "Bringing together some of our trusted partners and other industry leaders created an unprecedented exchange of ideas and insights, and we look forward to continuing to share this expertise with brands all over the world."
