JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TriWest Healthcare Alliance announced today that it selected Availity, the nation's largest real-time health information network, to implement its Provider Engagement Portal. The first phase of the rollout occurred last month.
The solution will be accessed by the company's network of 200,000 providers, who serve the healthcare needs of military veterans in 28 states. TriWest supports the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Choice Program (VCP) and Patient-Centered Community Care (PC3) program. It network has served more than 1 million veterans with more than 7 million healthcare appointments since 2014.
"Availity's portal is among the most widely-used in healthcare," said David J. McIntyre, Jr., President and CEO of TriWest Healthcare Alliance. "We are proud to partner with Availity in the next generation of our design to make available the information healthcare professionals need, as we continue to support them in the care rendered to our nation's veterans in support of VA's critical mission."
The Availity Provider Engagement Portal facilitates seamless electronic collaboration and communication between providers and third-party administrators, such as TriWest Healthcare Alliance, in real-time. TriWest's investment in the portal will make it even easier for network providers to:
- Complete clinical and administrative transactions, including claim status inquiries
- Electronically submit and edit claims, including unsolicited claims attachments, for timely adjudication and reimbursement
- Amend and validate their demographic information in accordance with TriWest's business rules and data structure
The strength and market participation of Availity's customers gives providers a single point of entry and streamlined navigation through the Provider Engagement Portal. Rather than moving between completely different interfaces, providers and their staff navigate just one, which enables multiple workflows.
"The Provider Engagement Portal is an essential tool for helping providers effectively engage with their health plan partners and eliminate inefficient, manual processes," said Russ Thomas, CEO of Availity. "Availity is excited to work with TriWest Healthcare Alliance, and help its providers meet the healthcare needs of our nation's veterans and their families."
