CHICAGO, Jan. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Media Services (TMS), a leading provider of entertainment information, has entered into an exclusive agreement to provide television listings and content to NTVB Media, creator of successful TV magazine subscription programs for newspapers. Best-in-class TMS content will be used in NTVB Media's popular "TV Weekly" magazine offered by newspapers to their subscribers across the U.S. and Canada.

Under the agreement, TMS is providing NTVB Media localized TV program listings and cable/satellite lineup information in addition to timely entertainment news, celebrity interviews, puzzles, quizzes, games, and horoscopes. By featuring TMS content in the 44-page glossy magazine, NTVB Media increases the value of TV Weekly to newspaper customers.
As a subscription solution, TV Weekly eliminates the majority of TV magazine costs to newspapers while creating significant new distribution revenue streams. Major market newspapers including the Los Angeles Times, Dallas Morning News and San Francisco Chronicle have successfully introduced the product in recent months. Circulation has grown rapidly, with current distribution to approximately 2 million households in 89 markets every week.
Comprehensive print TV listings are one of the most popular weekend features among newspaper readers. As newspapers adopt TV Weekly and make it available to their subscribers, they increase consumer satisfaction. Newspaper readers who subscribe to TV Weekly at a special discounted rate receive an informative and entertaining TV magazine delivered by their newspapers each week. Through expanded digital channel and new network information, enhanced local listings, and fresh entertainment content, TV Weekly helps newspaper readers quickly and easily identify what's on TV in their specific areas.
"We're excited to kick-off 2012 with our collaboration with NTVB Media," said Cameron Yung, Executive Director, Newspaper Sales for Tribune Media Services. "TMS' unmatched expertise and best-in-class TV content plus NTVB Media's innovative marketing and distribution approach make this a winning proposition for newspapers."
"Joining forces with TMS makes strategic sense," said Andy DeAngelis, President of NTVB Media. "This agreement allows newspapers to offer a highly-valued TV magazine to their subscribers without an additional charge on their subscribers' bills. The fact that newspapers can also realize cost savings and generate new revenues through this program indeed makes it a win-win."
TMS entertainment information and content reach millions of newspaper readers in the U.S. and Canada through customers including McClatchy, MediaNews, Gannett, Lee Enterprises, Post Media, Scripps, Advance, Cox Media Group, The New York Times Company and Tribune.
