Transparent House Challenges the Impossible with 'Reimagined' San Francisco Magazine Cover
Local creative agency stuns with photorealistic rendering for magazine's Urban Design Issue.
SAN FRANCISCO and LOS ANGELES, April 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In a city that never stops growing, Modern Luxury's San Francisco Magazine posed a provocative question to their readers for their April 2017 Urban Design Issue. The issue, titled "The Future Metropolis", displays a cover featuring one of SF's most recognizable icons, The Sutro Tower, reimagined by local creative agency, Transparent House. The brazen image instantly attracts attention as it reinvents the utilitarian tower as luxury condominiums. This wouldn't be the first time the city revamped its roots in favor of the expanding technology boom.
The cover image named "Sutro Reimagined" exists as a part of a larger series created by Transparent House that includes creative takes on the Transamerica Building, Alcatraz Island, and Coit Tower. Clark Miller, Design Director of SF Magazine, approached Transparent House about using the image to challenge the idea of what San Francisco is and where the city is headed. The pairing of futurism and urban design was a natural fit. A city historically rooted in self-expression, San Francisco is constantly redefining itself through its culture, arts, and architecture. While this cover may depict fantasy, the audacity is relatable to the magazine's readership of over 300,000.
"The cover feels to me like a giant middle finger to the impossible," said Jon Steinberg, Editor-In-Chief of the magazine, "and a suggestion that we should be willing to do almost anything to keep San Franciscans living in San Francisco." To stay ahead of the creative curve in a city that continually evolves, Transparent House fuses visionary imagery with emerging technologies to create a unique approach to their clients' marketing needs. In addition to architectural visualization, the agency excels at product visualization, virtual reality and interactive, as well as creative branding and advertising.
