DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., March 9, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Though the pomp and circumstance of being the winner of the CompTIA A+ One Million Certified promotion will soon come to a close for Logan Murphy, the benefits of becoming a certified will continue throughout the career of the young IT professional.
"At the end of the day I can walk into any service desk, anywhere in the world and I can say 'I have my A+,' " said Murphy, the grand prize winner of a contest to celebrate the fact that CompTIA A+ surpassed the one million-certified milestone in 2014.
Murphy, of Fort Collins, Colo., is an IT consultant with Long View Systems, a leading IT solutions and services company in North America.
As part of his grand prize package he recently concluded a visit to the Houston headquarters of CompTIA partner Total Seminars, a leading provider of a wide range of study materials for IT professionals preparing for numerous industry certification exams.
Murphy spent extended time with company founder, president, author and well-known certification guru Mike Meyers. Murphy will be featured in a new Total Seminars training video. He'll also receive the newest CompTIA Network+ learning bundle, complements of Total Seminars.
Another CompTIA partner, McGraw Hill, hosted a dinner for Murphy at the Downtown Aquarium, one of Houston's most popular entertainment and dining complex destinations.
Murphy, a confessed "space nut", also was treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of NASA's Johnson Space Center.
