Prior to partnering with Benefitfocus, Tops Markets used an enrollment system that lacked the tools the HR team needed to efficiently perform their day-to-day operations. When Tops Markets was introduced to the Benefitfocus Platform, they found a feature-rich system with an engaging employee self-service experience that supports personalized communication. With stores spread across multiple states, HR InTouch gives Tops Markets HR professionals a way to effectively communicate plan information, while giving associates immediate access to all of their benefits information.

As Tops Markets expands, and their benefit offerings evolve, the Tops Markets HR team can use HR InTouch to communicate plan changes to associates during Open Enrollment and throughout the year. They can also add tasks to associates' to-do lists and distribute information using a secure messaging tool that allows them to send personalized messages for different types of associates in various locations. With a Software as a Service design, HR InTouch allows Tops Markets employees to log-in and view these messages from any location with Internet access. Once in the portal, which is uniquely branded for Tops Markets, associates will also view a welcome video from their CEO.
Another feature that led Tops Markets to the Benefitfocus Platform is the capability to integrate its current payroll system with HR InTouch. When employees select their benefits, the deductions are calculated and automatically synched with their payroll system. This removes paper from the process and creates administrative efficiencies for both Tops Markets HR and Accounting departments.
