Tito's Vodka Proves Rock & Roll Spirit With Fundraiser for Future of Music Coalition
Microdistillery and National Nonprofit Seek a Brighter Future for Musicians
AUSTIN, Texas, July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tito's Handmade Vodka, the Austin-based maker of award-winning craft-distilled vodka, is proud to announce a new partnership with the Future of Music Coalition (FMC), a national organization that works to ensure a diverse musical culture where artists flourish, musicians are compensated fairly and fans find music they want. Tito's has selected FMC to receive the proceeds of a new fund drive where Tito's will donate up to $10,000 in support of the cause of American musicians and a flourishing music culture.
"Music is a vital part of our country's creative soul, and we feel it is essential that Tito's is not merely observing but actually contributing to the strength of American musicians and their future," said Nicole Portwood, Brand Manager of Tito's Handmade Vodka. "We want to ensure that the artists and creative professionals who sustain the music business are equipped to succeed."
Between July 1 and October 31, 2011, Tito's will donate one dollar (up to $10,000) every time a Tito's quick response (QR) code is scanned and clicked upon, indicating fans want the company to increase support of the future for musicians. The Tito's QR codes can be found on in-store promotional materials and on Tito's magazine ads. Donations will also be made when fans of the company visit titosrocks.com on their mobile phones and click on the "Ask Tito to Donate" section.
"We're incredibly excited to partner with Tito's, which represents the same kind of independent, entrepreneurial spirit we see in so many musicians," says FMC Executive Director Lissa Rosenthal. "FMC is committed to helping artists reach audiences and make a living, and we know that Tito's shares this vision. This campaign will help us continue to make a difference for musicians of every genre and background."
Proudly handmade in Austin, Texas, the live music capital of the world, Tito's Vodka has made a long-time commitment to music events and culture with its campaign aptly named "Tito's Rocks." This 2011 campaign features the FMC fund drive and a separate music-related Tito's contest, where fans of the Vodka-maker are invited to compete for the opportunity to serve as the company's roving blogger at four 2012 popular music festivals.
