Tinyhood grants free access to its online breastfeeding classes for expectant and new parents during pandemic
Breastfeeding courses are one of the most common prenatal education classes that people take in-person and with a group. Tinyhood is offering the option to access this course content for free from home and will be delivering continuous parenting education - from certified experts - as the situation develops.
BOSTON, March 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Tinyhood, an online academy for parents, announces that it is offering free access to its online breastfeeding classes for new and expectant parents facing restrictions in light of recent social distancing practices.
"While the story continues to evolve about this pandemic, there is a real and valid concern felt by new and expectant parents today. A simple search for 'pregnancy and virus' returns more than 216 million results," said co-founder & CEO Becky Miller. "Breastfeeding courses are one of the most common prenatal education classes taken in person and in group settings. Given the importance of this information to new and expectant parents, Tinyhood is offering the option to access it online."
Tinyhood is making all of its online breastfeeding classes — Breastfeeding Beginnings: What to Expect in the First 30 Days, How to Tell if Your Baby is Getting Enough Breast Milk, Common Breastfeeding Challenges, Pumping and Building a Stash, How to Increase Your Breast Milk Supply, and Breastfeeding 101 — all completely free, immediately and until further notice. Typically, classes are offered for a price point of $40-$100.
"Preparing for parenthood and learning to breastfeed can be hard enough. There's no need to stop access to this vital parenting information, especially if it comes to learning the skills needed to help feed one's baby," said Miller.
Tinyhood's breastfeeding classes are taught by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and includes video coursework and handy takeaways, all of which are available online and can be taken from the comfort of one's home.
"We don't want new and expectant parents to add any extra stress and uncertainty to their lives. We also hope that this initiative will help to slow the spread of this virus, as more and more people are encouraged to stay home with social distancing practices," said Miller.
