ON Talent is the second event in the ON series at Deloitte University, the new learning and leadership center aimed at fostering meaningful discussions and debate to generate breakthrough ideas to improve business. The inaugural session, ON Social, examined the growing impact of social data on business and society. That discussion convened top thought leaders on topics ranging from building data-driven organizations to re-imagining the role of management. ON Talent is the next phase in Deloitte University's discourse on strategies for managing talent in today's business environment.
"Continuing the ON series with an event focused on talent captures the very heart of what Deloitte University is all about – investing in and developing people," said Diana O'Brien, managing principal, Deloitte University. "Deloitte University is also a perfect setting for fostering ideas. As we saw with ON Social, people can focus on having deep discussions here and get inspired by their surroundings. Convening thought leaders at Deloitte University is a highly productive way to cultivate new ideas that impact business and society."
ON Talent will include roundtable and deep-dive discussions on the future of talent and its intersection with technology, social media, analytics, and brand and reputational markets. The conversations will explore three themes:
- The relationship between the employee and organization
- The changes enabled by technology
- The rise of analytics as both an unprecedented tool and cultural challenge and the competition for market, brand and reputation in complex and global talent and customer markets
"We may need a completely fresh approach to talent and leadership as a result of the new workplace changing business dynamics and the work styles of today's global employees," said Jeff Schwartz, ON Talent chair. "ON Talent will bring together thought leaders to advance new talent strategies in a world transformed by technology, social media and the squeeze companies face in meeting the expectations of both their customers and employees."
In conjunction with the June roundtable, Deloitte University Press is also releasing a new e-book, The Talent Paradox: A new agenda for talent and leadership, which collects research and writings on talent and work previously published in Deloitte Review.
