TheLadders Reinvents The Job Search With New Mobile Offerings
-- New Products Announced at "Job Central" Event to Help NYC Get Back to Work --
NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, TheLadders CEO & Co-founder, Alexandre Douzet, announced a suite of mobile offerings to help bring his company's more-than 5 million job seekers and 30,000 recruiters into the mobile age. His keynote, which took place during a unique job-search event called Job Central at the historic Grand Central Terminal, kicked off the online job-matching service's celebration of its 10-year anniversary.
"The proliferation of mobile has dramatically changed the job-seeking landscape, and TheLadders is embracing this shift by announcing our device-agnostic platform," said Douzet. "Since launching the company a decade ago, we have re-envisioned our business with a mobile-first lens to optimize the on-the-go, job-matching experience for both job seekers and recruiters."
In addition to unveiling a new mobile platform, Douzet introduced a new product called "TheLadders Scout," a proprietary, competitive-analysis tool. For the first time, job seekers on TheLadders now will be able to assess their competition for a job -- before they even apply. The innovative product will summarize the qualifications of other professionals who already have applied to the job-listing of interest.
"The biggest complaint among job seekers is that they apply to a job and never hear back, which creates frustration and confusion about their own qualifications and approach," explained Douzet. "TheLadders Scout eliminates this idea of a 'black hole' by providing previously inconceivable insight about the competition and the job seeker's status in the job search."
Displayed in a highly visual representation, TheLadders Scout will arm potential applicants with self-reported information about anonymous fellow candidates in five categories: years of experience, education level, areas of expertise, current title, and current salary. The Scout tool represents the next step in TheLadders' ongoing efforts to provide job seekers with more information about a job than any other career-service, better preparing and differentiating them in today's competitive marketplace.
As the busiest stop in the New York City subway system, Grand Central Terminal was an ideal venue for Douzet's mobile-product announcements. The free job-search event, hosted by national TV/Radio personality Allison Hagendorf, brought together thousands of job seekers, recruiters, and industry experts, including TheLadders' Job Search Expert Amanda Augustine, to network, learn, and share best practices.
