The US Economy Will Receive A Huge Boost From Tourism Dollars If The Gas Prices Fall As Predicted
Americans have historically spent their summers travelling around the US. However, if the price of gas does not drop, most people and their dollars will be stuck at home.
FRISCO, Texas, May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Planes, trains, and automobiles. You don't need Canadian TV to know that this summer, like every summer, Americans will be leaving their homes in order to travel all over the US. As Americans are huge consumers of gas, this will only happen if the gas prices continues to fall. As strange as it sounds, lower gas prices are great for business. High gas prices means less money to spend on the latest fashions, less money to spend on the local arts, and certainly less money to spend on all things entertainment, like tickets to a comedy club. Needless to say, what is bad for business is bad for jobs. People expect a poor job outlook to be dealt with by the government, and when the government steps in you know that politics are not too far behind. Quite simply put, the US society is built on religion, education, industry, and politics.
Although some people spend the summers traveling, some people consider the summer to be a time of relaxation spent at home with their family and pets. It is also a time in which people work on their gardens. Although you may want to own a farm, in this society farm ownership is usually a pipe dream that is both impractical and unattainable. Instead, people contribute as best they can to the environment by planting a cornucopia of fresh vegetables to share with their friends and family. After all, a healthy lifestyle is not just about exercising at the gym. Science and research has shown that exercise without a proper diet is not the way to healthy living.
Some on the other hand are much more active, choosing to use the summer as a time to for various sports and games. You would not have to spend too much time on the internet reading through various blogs to find out information about various summer sports and athletic activities. Weather permitting or not, every week there is a marathon, ironman, or bicycling event somewhere in the US. The American public is well educated on ways to entertain ourselves with sport. We have watched all the films, read all of the how to books, and have studied up on the latest technologies. We even go so far as to create our own playlist of our best music so as to enjoy the sport better. I would wager that one out of every two households in the US is a veritable nonprofit agency of sports enthusiasts.
